Match Day Drinking
With a season and a bit gone since we departed UP where does everyone do their drinking pre and post match these days.

I've experimented with a few different pubs but for most of the back end of last season and every match of this year I've settled in to The Carpenters. Great atmosphere and some brilliant humour and I must say has been the saviour of my match day experience. Had it not been for this place I may have struggled to find the desire to go every match.

So where else are the stalwarts of WHO calling home these days?

Any decent pubs in Burnley, son?

Drunk at the Cricket Club (james Anderson's club)... £2-00 a pint... you can stick your £10-00 a pint of Beardy Hops up at the shithole... give me a pint for a couple of quid in Lancashire anytime...

Trurib will be a lot easier to get to next year - they're building a new footbridge over the canal next to Forman's.

Any Old Iron, decent pint of Tribute in the Olde Black Bull, not all yellow fizzy pop.

Yeh it's good in there, especially after the rainy days and monday games. Talking about all our yesterdays once more, makes you feel on top of the world.

The tank bar is decent. 10 different tanks full of different beers and a smoke house

Carpenters you say? Didn't see you in there, probably was close to you. We've only just begun going there. Seems like only yesterday I was in there. Did you sing? I noticed that when everyone leaves to go home there is a kind of hush.

Gavvy... you know it's normally the clientele that makes pubs and the occasions in pubs good... not some fucking craft beer drinking cunt in a wicker chair fiddling around with a pot of beard wax... oh and it's you in the wicker chair in case you are wondering....

Settled on the queens head after visiting many that have been mentioned on here, it has a decent chippy next door as well. Had some good nights in the carpenters last year after being tonked by Man City twice, as mentioned though it can be a nightmare to get served.

Re: Match Day Drinking
AoI the offer is usually much better in Stratford than it was around Upton park. Altogether better pubs with the noted exception of the Lion.

Re: Match Day Drinking
Yes RM10 that's going to become my match pub mind you I reckon it'll be a case of getting there early as they're going to be doing 4 pint pitchers for a tenner. Lucky to get two pints for that elsewhere.

Re: Match Day Drinking
Apart from the Lion, which I've used for more than 40 years now, do any of these other watering holes actually serve proper beer? Or is it all fizzy yellow shit and ice cold guiness.

Bow Bells is becoming our regular, then easy and quick up to PML most games. Coburn Arms also good for pint and food but less of a match day pub.
Often walk past the Lighthouse if PML is down. Very handy for the west side of the LS.
